NIAGARA FALLS — Mildred K. (Kelly) Coleman, longtime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 27, 2013. She was 91. She was born in Niagara Falls on December 3, 1921, a daughter of the late Arthur G. and Clara E. (Koske) Kelly.
Mrs. Coleman attended local schools, graduating from Trott Vocational School in 1932. She married Russell G. Coleman on June 13, 1942, and they remained happily married for 45 years until his passing in 1987. Mrs. Coleman worked for many years at Jenss Department Store until her retirement in 1997. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and crafts, but her greatest joy was her time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Larry C. (Diana) Coleman of Missouri, Sue Ellen (David) Matsulavage of Newfane, and Rebecca Ann (Larry Guthrie) Coleman of Wilson. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Racheal Coleman, Jennifer (Ebb) Wieczorek, Sarah Coleman and Adam Coleman, Zachary, Jarad, Aaron and Matthew Matsulavage, and Tristan Guthrie, 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her sister, Shirley K. Rychel of Niagara Falls. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Russell G. Coleman (1987); her daughter, Janice Lee Coleman (1959) and her sister, Joan K. Phillips.
There will be no prior visitation and funeral services will be private with Pastor Tim Dombrowski of Grace Chapel in Lockport officiating. Burial will be private in Acacia Park Cemetery in the Town of Pendleton.
