LOCKPORT - Rial C.
Roberts, 72, of 173 S. Transit
St., died Wednesday (Jan. 1,
1969) at his home of an ap-
parent heart attack.
Police said he had left his
home about 9 a.m. Wednesday
to go to the garage ta the rear
of the house to start his car.
He was found lying on the floor
of the garage about 9:30 a.m.
The rescue squad of the fire
department attempted to revive
him but he was pronounced
dead by Dr. Thomas C. Regan,
a Niagara County corner.
He was born in the Town
of Cambria, Dec. 27, 1896, the
son of Orson and Mary Moore
Roberts, and had lived in
Lockport most of his life.
He retired from the Simonds
Saw and Steel Co., in 1961, after
30 years service as a ham-
mersmith.
He is survived by his wife,
Elizabeth E. Bicker Roberts;
four sons, Rial V., Ralph C.,
Joseph G. and Michael R.
Roberts, all of this city; four
daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Alive)
Huntington and Mrs. George
(Genevieve) Schlegel, both of
Medina, and Mrs. Robert
(Ellen) Ranney and Miss Mary
Roberts, both of Lockport; nine
grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Prudden
and Kandt Funeral Home,
where services will be held at
2 p.m. Friday, the Rev. Herbert
L. Siegner officiating.
Burial will be in Wrights
Corners Cemetery.
