Newfane Methodist Church was
the scene of a beautiful wedding at
8:30 Saturday evening when Miss
Betty Catherine Bigalow, daughter
of Mrs. Mabel Bigalow of Newfane,
became the bride of Harold William
Sharpsteen, son of Mr. and Mrs.
William Sharpsteen of Barker, the
Rev. James Wilson officiating.
The bride, who was given to marriage
by her uncle. Sheriff Fred A
Bigalow, wore a white satin and
lace gown fashioned with a sweetheart
neckline and team. Her
finger-tip length veil was trimmed
with lace. She carried white
roses and gypsophlla.
Miss Marjorie E. Bigalow, stater
of the bride, was maid of honor.
She wore an aqua organdie gown
with an aqua crown In her hair and
carried peach colored roses.
Bridesmaids were Miss Betty
Miller of Valparaso, Ind., formerly
of Newfane, and Miss Mary Arm
Fields of Buffalo. They wore pale
pink tulle gowns with satin bodices
and pink rosea in their hair. They
carried pink roses and gypsophlla.
Barbara McGowan of Lockport,
cousin of the bride, was flower
girl, wearing a long dress of powder
blue satin and carrying pink rosebuds,
Warner Blow of Barker
was ring bearer, wearing a white
suit.
John Connolly of Barker was
best man and ushers were Elvln
Neldllnger of Newfane and Harold
Jones of Barker. Miss Edith Duncan
played the wedding music and
a program which preceded Che
ceremony. Mrs. Lindsay E. Hobbs
sang "At Dawning."
Church decorations included baskets
of gladioli and pink and white
phlox forming a V, with candelabra
holding white candles at either side
A reception to 100 guests was held
In the church parlors, where refreshments
were served from laceoovered
tables Mghted by candles.
A beautiful three-tiered wedding
cake centered the main table.
Following a week in the Adiron-
dacks, Mr. and Mrs. Sharpsteen
will make their home on West
Haseltine Avenue, Kenmore. The
bride traveled in a soldier blue
garbardine suit with red accessor-
ies.
