Funeral services are-being held
this Thursday afternoon, May 20, at
two o'clock from the Harmon funeral
Home, Castile, for Joseph
Billings, age 80, who passed away
Monday, May 18th. The Rev. E. A.
Black, pastor of the Castile Baptist
Church, will officiate with burial
in the Hope Cemetery, Castile.
Mr. Billings died at the.home of
his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs.
Rueben Billings, with whom he had
made hisi home. He had been in
poor health for the past eight
months.
He was born in Castile, February
26, 1874, the son of Parson and
Sarah Phillips Billings. He had
spent his entire life here and during
his eighty years had lived on
Hurd Street, although living in different
houses during theat time.
He had been a farmer for many
years and also Had been a partner
with his brother in a local-garbage
collection enterprise where he had
become well known by young and
old throughout the village and had
countless friends.
Surviving, in addition to his brother
Reuben, is one sister, Mrs.
Millie Wagner of Erie, Pa., and several
nieces and nephews;
