Rita D. deWysocki, 91, of Niagara Falls, died peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Schoelkopf Long-Term Care Facility. Born January 23, 1933, in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Aloysius and Margaret (Downey) McIntyre.
Rita was a lifelong Niagara Falls resident, attended local schools, and was a longtime parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Church. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, John K. “Jack” deWysocki.
She is survived by her five children, Mary Ellen “Mimi” (Lloyd Schrack), Christine (Christopher Kelley), Douglas (Cindy Russinko), John, and David deWysocki; one sister, Nancy (late Herbert) Wills; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Rita was predeceased by her siblings Mary Jane (Elliott) Lynch, Patricia (Michael) Kreischer, Victory (John) Moran, Denise McIntyre, and Edmund (Barbara) McIntyre, as well as her great-granddaughter, Stella B. Richards.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 13, 2025, from 3-5 PM and 6-8 PM at Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls. On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, please assemble at 10:15 AM to proceed to St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, for an 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lewiston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to Our Lady of Victory National Shrine & Basilica, 767 Ridge Road, Lackawanna, NY 14218.
