- Lois A. Carlo of North Tonawanda, NY passed away on July 22, 2016, at the age of 89, beloved Wife of the late John A. Carlo; loving Mother of Christine A. (Ronald) Neal of Florida, Jacqueline Sue (Kevin) Parks of North Tonawanda and John B. (Amy) Carlo of Penfield; cherished Grandmother of ten grandchildren and “Grandma Great” of twenty three great- grandchildren; Sister of the late Richard Geser and late Jack Geser; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Lois loved to celebrate life and enjoyed each day. She had a life-long “love affair” with the water; she often reflected on her memories of swimming in the Niagara River and sailing with the Niagara Sailing Club. In later years she enjoyed sitting riverside eating an ice cream cone and watching the boats go by.
Lois was an avid golf enthusiast and charter member of the Tan Tara Golf Club. She served as an active volunteer with the DeGraff Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for many years and enjoyed playing bridge, tennis and membership in a book club. Lois will be remembered as a high energy, people person who lived a full life. She was loved deeply and will be missed by her family and friends.
The family will receive friends on July 25, 2016, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Brunner Funeral Home, 156 Robinson St., North Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday morning at 10:15 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Parish, 800 Niagara Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda. Please assemble at the church. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice (www.niagarahospice.org) or a charity of your choice.
