Mrs. Emma May Bissell, 84, a
lifetime resident of Orleans County,
died Tuesday (July 38, 1883)
after a long illness at Medina
Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Bissell, who had resided at
the Orleans County Infirmary
since the death of her husband,
Franklin J. Bissell. in 1854, was
born in Alabama July 7, 1878, the
daughter of Robert and Augusta
Babcook.
A former member of the Baptist
Church in Albion, she is survived
by a son, Erwin Bissell of
Barker, and three daughters,
Mrs. Vincent (Cora) Wells of Shelby
Center, Mrs. Mehrin (Rose)
Forman of Alabama, and Mrs.
Margaret Sewor of Billings, Mont.
She is also survived by eight
grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren,
and five great - greatgrandchildren.
Friends may call at the Houseman
Funeral Home, 228 Park
Ave., Medina, where the family
will be present from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will
be conducted by the Rev. Clinton
Kenney, pastor of the First Presbyterian
Church, Medina, at the
Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Friday
Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant
Cemetery, West Shelby.

BISSELL - Emma May Bissell,
84. resident of the Orleans County
Infirmary. Albion, died Tuesday

She was the daughter of Robert
and Augusta Babcook and born
in the Town of Alabama on July
7, 1879. She married Franklin J.
Bissell in 1898 and had resided in
Orleans County almost her entire
lifetime. Her husband died in
1954. She was a member of die
Baptist Church. Survivors include
a son, Erwin of Barker, three
daughters, Mrs. Vincent (Cora)
Wells of Shelby Center. Mrs. Melvin
(Rose) Forman of Alabama,
and Mrs. Margaret Sewor of Billings,
Mont, one sister, Mrs.
Clarence Steele of Orlando, Fla..
eight grandchildren, 49 g r e a t grandchildren,
and five greatgreat-
grandchildren. Friends will
be received by the family 2-4
and 7-9 at Houseman Funeral
Home, 228 Park Ave., Medina,
where funeral services will be
held at 2 pm. Friday. The Rev
CUnton Kenney, pastor of the
First Presbyterian Church, will
officiate with burial in Mt. Pleasant
Cemetery, West Shelby.
