BATES - Arthur Bates, formerly
of Park Avenue, passed
away Sunday, February 20,
1972, at Lockport Memorial
Hospital. He is survived by two
stepsons, Frank E. Bittler Sr..
and Paul J. Bittler Sr., both
of Lockport, N.Y.. also five
grandchildren and eight great
- grandchildren. Friends may
call at their convenience at the
Funeral Home of Taylor &
Reynolds, Niagara at North
Transit Street, where funeral
services will be held at 10:00
o'clock Tuesday morning. The
Rev. Robert E. Eggenschiller
will officiate. Interment will be
in Cold Spring Cemetery at the
convenience of the family.

LOCKPORT-Arthur Bates,
92, formerly of Park Avenue
here, died Sunday (Feb. 20,
1972) at Lockport Memorial
Hospital after a short illness.
He was born in Orleans
County, Feb. 8,1880, the son of
David and Rettie Bates and
worked as a maintenance man
for the Thatcher Glass' Works
in Lockport for over 35 years.
He later worked for the Lock
City Coal Co., retiring 20 years
ago.
Husband of the late Pauline
Bates, who died 20 .years ago,
he is survived by two stepsons,
Frank E. Bittler Sr. and Paul
J. Bittler Sr., both of Lockport;
five grandchildren and eight
great grandchildren.
Friends may call at their °

Reynolds Funeral Home,
Niagara at North Transit
Street, where services will be
held at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The;
