Funeral services were held Tuesday
afternoon from the family
home in Parker Kd., Armor for
Mrs. Elmer Plarr, who died Friday
evening in Our Lady of Victory
hospital following a long illness.
She would have been 42 years
old on Nov. 4. The Rev. Gilbert
Wieting of the Hamburg Methodist
Church officiated. Burial was in
Hillcrest Cemetery, Armor.
Mrs. Plarr was a member of
Lackawanna Chapter No. 502
Eastern Star; Fellowship Rebekah
Lodge No. 60, Woodlawn; charter
member and first treasurer of Erie
County Volunteer Fire Co.; charter
member and past- president of
the Ladies Auxiliary, Armor Vol.
Fire Co.; member of the Civil-defense
and acting air raid warden;
police matron of Bethlehem Steel
Co. during World War II and a
member of the Friends Club.
Mrs. Plarr was a daughter of the
late Mrs. Amy Roberts Bittter and
Mr. Phillip Bittler of Clarence.
She had married Elmer Plarr Sept.
29, 1934 in Corning and moved to
Woodlawn before residing in Hamburg.
Surviving besides her husband
and father are sisters, Mrs. Erna
Kazmark of Benson, Arizona; Mrs.
Ruth Knapp, Tujunga, Calif, and
Mrs. Fern Kruse, Clarence.
