Private Gordon D. Holliday 34,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Holliday,
28 A street, was killed in action in.
France on August 6, according to a
commission telegraph message received by his
Parents from the United States War
deparrtment.
Born in Niagara Falls, Private
Holliday graduated from North
Junior high school and was employed
for a time by the Shredded
Wheat company and the Aluminum
Company of America here. He entered
the army March 24, 1942, at
Libby, Mont., and received his train
ing at Camp Callam, Camp San
Louis Obispo and Camp Le Mesa,
Calif. He was on duty on the west
coast until last March when he
went to England. He crossed the
channel to France last month.
Besides his parents, he is sur-
vived by a sister, Mrs. Violet Col-
quhoun, of this city.
