M. W. Denef Dies at 60 In Hospital
NORTH TONAWANDA Marin W. P. Denef, 60, of 1537 Kingston St., died Saturday (July 22, 1961) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Brant Township, Ontario, he had lived in this city for the last 23 years. He was employed as a dispatcher for the Thiele Coal and Feed Corp. for 19 years. He was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church and the brotherhood of the church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hilda Mante Denef; a son, Leroy Denef, of this city; his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Denef, of Lutsen, Minn.; eight sisters, Mrs. Martin Petersen and Miss Louise Denef, both of Lutsen, Minn.; Mrs. Alvin Fritz, of Marquette, Mich.; Mrs. Ferdinande (sic) Spleete (sic) and Mrs. Ace Schumacher, both of Madison, Wisc.; Mrs. Howard Bertelsen and Mrs. Charles Murray, both of Palto (sic) Alto, Calif.; Mrs. Lloyd Bowman, of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, and a brother, Walter Denef, this city. Also surviving are two grand children. Mr. Denef's father, Rev. Ernest Denef, died in 1945. Rev. Luther Knauff will conduct funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Brunner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery.
