Fred J. Alexander, 62, of 43
Adam St., a Niagara County
employe for 43 years and the
father of 12 children died in
Mt. View Hospital Wednesday
after a long illness.
He was clerk of Sunreme
Court for Niagara County a
post he had held the past 18
years.
He had been a Niagara
County employe since 1929,
starting as a photostat operator
and later working in the Motor
Vehicle Bureau.
Mr. Alexander was a member
of St. John's R. C. Church, the
L o c k p o r t YMCA, Lockport
Eagles, the Hickory Club Inc.
and the Niagara County Civil
Service Employes Assn.
He had worked as a bar
steward part -time for the past
30 years, at the Park Hotel,
Garlocks Restaurant and the
Middleport Country Club. He
was married to the former Esther
Lugg, April 18, 1936.
He was born in Lockport, July
10, 1910, the son of Frank and
Alice Blake Alexander.
Survivors include: his widow;
five daughters, Mrs. Frank
(Sue) Westgate, Mrs. Daniel
(Zoe) Lacey, both of Lockport;
Miss Haila and Miss Katherine
Alexander, both at home, and
Miss Rita V. Alexander, Buffalo;
Also seven sons, W. P.
Michael, Ivan C, Fred J. Jr.,
Nicholas F. L., Kirk G. D., and
Ross Y. Alexander, all of Lockport;
and T. Brian Alexander,
Middleburgh; seven grand
children and several nephews.
He was the son - in - law
of Lloyd B. Luff and the brother
- in - law of Mrs. Nettie D.
Blake, Lockport.
Friends may call at their
convenience at the Lange
Funeral Home, 186 East Ave.,
beginning tonight.
Services will be held in the
funeral home at 9 a.m-. Saturdy
and at 9:30 a.m. at St. John
the Baptist R .C. Church. Burial
will be in North Ridge
Cemetery. There will be a vigil
at the funeral home at 8:15 p.m.
today. Memorials may be made
to the American Cancer Society.
