- Josephine Fura Ketch was born on March 4, 1925, and left us on August 5, 2018.
Josephine, the second youngest of ten children, was born in Niagara Falls, NY, and attended a one room schoolhouse, from which she graduated in 1943.
At the age of 22, she married John Ketch and had one son, Gary. They lived in Pendleton, NY, where they raised, showed and sold Arabian show horses for over 25 years. She then sold real estate for five years before retiring to Sun City West (SCW), AZ in 1984.
In Sun City West, she and John were both very active in the Lawn Bowls Club and the Senior Olympics. After John's passing in 2007, Josephine lived at The Madison Independent Living in SCW until she had a stroke in 2016, which caused her to lose her short term memory.
Josephine leaves behind one son, Gary (Bernadette); and many nieces and nephews, many still living in the Niagara Frontier of Western New York.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Gardens of Sun City, who provided loving care to Josephine for almost two years.
An open casket viewing will be held at 9:15 AM followed by a Mass at 10:00 AM on August 10, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 19002 N. 128th Ave., Sun City West, AZ 85375. Burial is planned for 11:30 AM at Sunland Memorial Park & Mortuary, 15826 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ 85351.
