NIAGARA FALLS -
Florence V. (Costanzo) Rotella, 90, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Fiore and Olga (Sawma) Costanzo.
Florence was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. She attended local schools and graduated from the former LaSalle Senior High School in 1941. On September 21, 1968, she married Louis A. Rotella in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Rotella predeceased her on August 6, 2008. For thirty years, Florence worked at Bell Aerospace in Niagara Falls, NY as an insurance adjuster until her retirement in the late 1980's. In her leisure time, Florence enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting and watching her favorite television show Wheel of Fortune. But Florence's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially family dinners and outings as well as short road trips with her daughter, Jean, and son-in-law, Gary. In her later years, playing cards with her grandchildren on Sunday afternoon at her daughter Anne's home became a ritual.
Grandma would like to thank Nicole for her nightly care which was always done with love.
Florence is survived by two daughters, Anne Bloomstine-Adam of Niagara Falls, NY and Jean (Gary) Bloomstine-Lloyd of North Tonawanda, NY; four grandchildren John, Marcus, Nicole and Anne; five great-grandchildren, John, Michael, Santino, Anthony and her special great-granddaughter, Mallory, who spent much of her time helping with the care of her Nina and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her former husband, Joseph K. Bloomstine in 1992; and two brothers, John "Jack" (Irene of Grand Island, NY) Costanzo and Phillip Costanzo.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the
M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, July 3rd at 10:30 AM at St. Vincent DePaul at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Niagara County SPCA, 2100 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
