Returning home about 4:30 o'clock
Monday afternoon, Mrs. Lillie Van
Buren, Riddle road, town of Royal'
ton, found the lifeless body of her
son, Mark Van Buren, 36. hanging
from a rafter in the attic.
Dr. Frank A. Waider, coroner,
said he would issue a certificate of
death by suicide. He learned that
the man had been ill for several
years and was despondent
Mr, Van Buren and his mother
lived alone. Monday afternoon
Mrs, Van Buren went out for a short
time. During her absence Mr.
Van Buren apparently went to the
attic, stood on a small keg while he
fastened a clothesline around his
neck and then jumped from the
keg, the coroner said.
Besides his mother, Mr. van
Bursa leaves two sisters and one
brother, Ellis Van Buren of the
Rapids. Mrs. Walter Bell of Clarence
Center and Mrs. Leon Paters
of Royalton
Services will be held Thursday afternoon
at 3 o'clock at the home,
the Rev. Arthur Vrooman, pastor of
the United Brethren church. The
Rapids, officiating, Burial will be
la Chestnut Ridge cemetery.
