- Obituary of Rolf Pollock
Rolf R. Pollock, son of the late Robert & Gertrude (Nemeschy) Pollock of Town Line, NY, resided in the town of Porter, passed over to be with his son Eric L. Pollock, family and friends on March 15, 2018.
Rolf of 72 years, a few tears, and hairy ears, was born on August, 22nd 1945, in Buffalo, NY. He is survived by his sons, David E. Pollock, Michael E. Pollock, Jeffery A. Pollock, Joshua N. Pollock, and his daughter Brianna R. Pollock. He is also survived by his grandchildren Arianna R. Billings, Gabriel N., Kendall R., Adrianna, and Kimberly Pollock.
Rolf, who was known as "Ralph" by some people, who never learned how to pronounce Rolf, spent his childhood in Clarence, NY, and Chandos Lake, Ontario, Canada. He graduated from Clarence Central High School with honors. He went to College in Emporia, Kansas. Rolf grew up with activities centered on his church, and was the President of the Luther League at Town Line Lutheran Church in Alden for two years. He played football at Clarence Central, was a hunter, fisherman, and avid swimmer. He spent every summer at the family's island on Chandos Lake, Where he spent most of his time on or in the lake.
Rolf had many jobs, hobbies, and talents as he grew up. Rolf was the owner of The Holland Station, in Lancaster, NY where he sold craft supplies and taught art and craft classes. He was also an accomplished wood worker and had his own wood shop. After moving to The Town of Porter, Rolf and his partner Richard Yates of Sanborn, NY invented the "Wizzer Board". They Incorporated as Triple R Publications and became a multi state advertising business, publishing "Tavern Talk". Then Rolf decided to travel each and every highway, to see America and became a truck driver. He retired after becoming ill, after one and a half million miles without one accident or moving violation. Try that!
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville on Saturday, March 24, from 5:00 p.m. on 7:00pm with services following. Private internment will be at the Town Line Lutheran Church, 1159 Town Line Road, Alden, NY
