BURT, Sept 9-Mr. and Mrs. William
Stroth quietly celebrated the
50th anniversary of their marriage
at their home last Friday. Mrs.
Stroth was formerly Miss Minnie
Bobiien, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
William Botzien who came to
America from Germany on their
wedding trip. Making their home on
the McClew road. Mr. Stroth was
born ln Germany and with his parents
came to America when 9 years
old.
They were married Sept. 4, 1888,
in the Bobzien homestead on the
Transit road, now occupied by Mr.
and Mrs. Christian Bobzien, a
brother of Mrs. Stroth. Their attendants
were Christian Bobzien,
Freida Uirich, William Volschow,
and Mary Klumpp. Mr. Bobzien
being the only one living at the
present time.
All their married life including
four years in Niagara Falls, has
been spent in Niagara county, and
more than 30 years in their present
home here. They are enjoying comparatively
good health.
To them have been born five
children, Mrs. Max Ericksson of
Syracuse, Mrs. Ernest Stoddard and
Helen Stroth of Burt, and Minnie
and Lawrenoe both of whom passed
away while in their teens. They also
have four grandchildren: Doval
Whitehead, Mrs. Thelma Secor and
Albert Stoddard of Burt, and William
Ericksson of Syracuse; two
great-grandchildren: William Secor
and Vivian Whitehead of Burt.
Mr. and Mrs. Stroth received a
gift from their children and cards
and calls from friends and neighbors.
