Towlson Beringer passed away following a brief illness on December 10, 2013, one day following her 82nd birthday. Born and raised in Fort Erie, Ontario, she is the daughter of the late Auleen Laird of Buffalo and Clifford Towlson of Fort Erie, Ontario. After earning her United States Citizenship in 1952, she became a lifetime resident of Tonawanda, NY. She leaves behind her loving husband of 60 years, Nicholas "Butch" Beringer; three children, Philip N. (Susan) Beringer of Coconut Creek, FL, Clifford M. (Anita Graziana) Beringer of Lyndeborough, NH and Lisa A. Beringer of Wheatfield, NY; a granddaughter, Denise (John) Reis of Charlotte, NC; longtime dearest friends, Diane M. LaVigne of Wheatfield, NY and Laurie A. Wainwright of Tonawanda, NY. Joan also leaves behind several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service at 10:45 AM on Saturday, December 14th at White Chapel Memorial Park, Niagara Falls Blvd., Amherst, NY, followed by a celebratory luncheon in Joan's honor at the Kibler Apartments, 284 Main St., Tonawanda, NY.
