- Francis ''James'' Drabczyk,77, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on August 14, 1940 he was the son of the late Andrew J. and Stella (Krecisz) Drabczyk and attended local schools.
James entered the United States Army on July 28, 1961. He was honorably discharged on June 30, 1967 as a SP4. For his service to his country he received the, Marksman (Carbine), Expert(Rifle) and the good conduct Medal. After serving his country he worked as a Safety Engineer at Occidental Chemical Corporation until his retirement in 1998.
He is survived by his wife, Susan A. (Kerr) Drabczyk; children, Kristin (Scott) Tubo and James (Lisa) Drabczyk; grandchildren, Heather, Ashly, Katlynne and Scott; sisters: Mary(Richard) Pawlak, Janice(Mike) Redmond and Lorraine Lewis; brother, Andrew Drabczyk and best friend, John Kruiscak. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers, Stephen Drabczyk, Dennis Drabczyk and Alfred "Fred" Drabczyk.
Friends may call Monday, September 11th from 3-8 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, cor of Welch Ave. Niagara Falls, NY, where prayer services will begin at 7:30 PM with Deacon Richard Golaszewski officiating. Private burial with Military Honors will take place at the convenience of the family in St. Michaels Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In Lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to St. Michael The Archangel Parish of the National Catholic Church, 250 27th Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14303.
