- Patricia “Patti” C. (Brigante) Silvaggi, 78, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2019, at Niagara Hospice House. Born on October 28, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Delores (Gruppo) Brigante.
Patti graduated from Niagara Falls High School and attended Buffalo State College. On August 13, 1965, she married the love of her life, James Silvaggi. Jim predeceased her on May 18, 1992.
Patti was a gifted artist who had a home business for many years crafting homemade, wooden Christmas ornaments. She served as the religious education coordinator for special education students at St. Teresa’s Church, and was also one of the original founders of Niagara Cerebral Palsy (Empower).
Patti was an avid fan of the New York Yankees. She was extremely devoted to her family, and enjoyed spending time telling stories, cooking and baking.
Patti is survived by her children, Jeffrey J. Silvaggi and Karen M. (Mark Abramaitys) Silvaggi-Bush; her granddaughter, Gianna Bush; her brother, Neil Brigante; one uncle, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and her best friend of 73 years, Ann Reele. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Michelina Alongi and her brother, James Briganti; brother-in-law, Frank Alongi and her godson, Frank Alongi.
The family will be present on Friday, December 6th from 10 – 11 A.M. at St. Raphael’s Parish, 3840 Macklem Ave, Niagara Falls, NY, where Patti’s Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be held privately in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Niagara Hospice. Arrangements by M.J.
