- Peter DeLuke, 97, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 14th, 2018 in Niagara Hospice House. Born in Wishaw, PA, he was the loving son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Severini) DeLuca; and the beloved husband of the late Bernice (Tomal) DeLuke, whom passed away on November 4, 2000, after 61 years of marriage.
Peter served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in Japan until his honorable discharge. He was employed at Hooker Chemical Company as a Millwright for over 41 years until his retirement in 1982. He was also a longtime member of Prince of Peace Church.
Mr. DeLuke was a devoted family man, as well as a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was the perfect role model and example for all men. He had a subtle sense of humor and was a loyal and dedicated husband and father.
He enjoyed bowling, traveling, watching the New York Yankees and spending time with his family. He also loved his daily walks on Goat Island.
Mr. DeLuke is survived by his four children, Patricia (Ronald) Malacarne, Sharon (Joseph) Musiol, Peter (Cindy) DeLuke and Daniel (Esta) DeLuke; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Ronald DeLuke, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife, he is also predeceased by his siblings Alfred (late Shirley) DeLuke, Jean (John) Cheff, Katherine Cowell, Joseph (late Mary Jane) DeLuca, and Tony (late Eva) DeLuke.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 19th from 3 – 7 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will begin Thursday at 9:30 A.M., followed by Mr. DeLuke’s Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial offerings may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
