notified that the body of their
son, CpL Sherwood H. Bollier,
killed fighting the Germans in
Holland is being returned aboard
the U. S. Transport Haiti Victory.
He died in action with the U. S.
Paratroopers on Oct. 2, 1044.
He was with his command in
the D-Day invasion of France and
he fought with his detachment for

fighting he and his comrades performed
in Normandy.

graduate of the North Tonawanda
High School and received his
Bachelor of Science degree from
the University of Georgia. He was
employed by the Union Bag and
Paper Company of Savannah, Ga.,
when he enlisted in the Naval Air

After receiving an honorable
discharge from the Navy he signed
on with the paratroopers in October
1942, and went overseas a
year later.
Besides his parents, Cpl. Bollier
is survived by two brothers,
Roger and John A. Bollier.
