RANSOMVILLE -
Lorraine A. Pollow, age 95, of Ransomville, died on Friday, May 9, 2014 in her home under the loving care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Lorraine was born on April 30, 1919 in the Town of Porter, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Hillman) Zimmerman and was a lifelong area resident. On November 5, 1942, she married John Pollow, Jr. John predeceased her on August 25, 1983.
Lorraine was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church at North Ridge. She enjoyed working on local farms and was especially fond of violets. She was also very proud that she was a 44 year survivor of breast cancer.
She is survived by her children, Roger (Gail) Pollow and Marilyn Pollow, both of Ransomville and Ralph (Pam) Pollow of Lockport; three brothers, Albert, Kenneth, and James (Diane) Zimmerman, Sr.; two sisters, Marion (Ward) Delude and Anne (Morris "Mike") Buttery; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Pollow; an infant daughter, Shirley Pollow; three sisters, Bessie Bonnett, Dorothy Chamberlain and Winifred Zimmerman; and three brothers, Junior, Edward, and Harold "Harvey" Zimmerman.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Monday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 13th at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Hoffman of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church at North Ridge officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria.
