Harold A. (Harvey) Zimmerman, Sr.

Harold A. (Harvey) Zimmerman, Sr., passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014, at the age of 87 at his residence under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice. He was born on January 8, 1927 in Youngstown, the son of the late John and Anna (Hillman) Zimmerman.
Harold once worked for the Town of Niagara Stone Quarry. He also had worked for Carbide Carbon in Niagara Falls. He left Carbide and went back to farming, working for several local farms. He retired in June of 2006 at the age of 81 from Faery's Farm and Greenhouses in Ransomville where he had worked for 44 years. Harold enjoyed hunting and loved being with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline (Tillotson) Zimmerman. They were married on February 23, 1952 and just celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his eight children, Harold A. (Joan) Zimmerman, Jr. of Burt, NY, Sharon A. (Lolly) Wilson of Wilson, Carol L. (Fred) Wilkesmore of Model City, Gary L. Zimmerman of Niagara Falls, Sandy M. (Glenn) Pless of Ransomville, Gregory C. Zimmerman of Niagara Falls, Cindy L. (Troy) Orzak of Middleport, NY, and Thomas C. (Shiek) Zimmerman of Largo, FL; three brothers, Albert Zimmerman, Kenneth Zimmerman, and James (Diane) Zimmerman, Sr.; three sisters, Lorraine Pollow, Marion (Ward) Delude, and Anna (Morris) "Mike" Buttery; 18 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Bessie Bonnett, Dorothy Chamberlain, and Winifred Zimmerman; and two brothers, Junior and Edward Zimmerman.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and Thursday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 14th at 10:30 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. William Lowery officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria.
