NIAGARA FALLS, Dec. 1 - Shot
while hunting n e a r Ransomvllle,
John Granter, 41, of 2108 Ontario
Ave., died at 4:35 Wednesday aft
ernoon in Memorial Hospital.
Coroner James W. Heary is Investigating
the death, following Mr
Grantor's wounding on the John
Pollow farm,, a quarter of a mile
east of Ransomville, on the Youngs-
town-Lockport Road.
Trooper Kenneth W. Hemmer of
the State Police Bureau of Criminal
Investigation, found that Mr.. Grant-
er was shot at 2:30 P.M. on a
rabbit hunting trip by his broth-
er-in-law, David Henry Bonnett, 33,
of th Moore Road, Ransomville.
Edward Woodland, 36,, of 4408 Adele
Ct., Niagara Falls, was with them
when th tragedy occurred.
Mr. Granter suffered a blast
through the right kidney from a 12-
guage shotgun which Mr. Bonnett
was trying to cock four or fivve feet
behind Mr.. Granter. Mr.. Bonnett
said the fun went off accidentally.
Unemployed since the National
Carbon strike, Mr. Granter lived
here since 1930.
