- Leanna Boorom Obituary
Leanna (Gateson) Boorom, age 96, of North Tonawanda, Passed away on August 13, 2024, surrounded by her children. Leanna was born and raised in Elba, NY. She graduated from Elba Central in 1947. She was Elba’s first Onion Queen. Leanna was known for her baking. There was always some kind of dessert coming out of her oven. Leanna loved to garage sale with her daughters. She was always looking for “treasures.” These were mostly bird houses and doilies. Twenty years ago Le and her daughters started going out to lunch. Keeping a list of different restaurants that they ate at. Sadly the list ended just 6 shy of 400! Leanna will be missed by many people, but her motto of “just be nice” will be carried on. Leanna was the beloved wife of the late Robert D. Boorom and mother to the late David R. Boorom. (survived by his wife, Susan) . She is survived by her children, Connie (Kevin) Literman, Lawrence Boorom, Jeffrey Boorom and Linda (Frank) Toczek. She was a loving grandmother, great-grandmother, and honorary grandmother to many. There will be no services, flowers are gratefully declined, if so desired memorials may be made to: North Presbyterian Church, Niagara Hospice, or North Tonawanda Meals on Wheels.
