Richard C. Reimer, age 64 of Youngstown, died on Sunday, March 9, 2014 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a lengthy illness. Richard was born on May 19, 1949 in Duluth, MN, the son of Maude (Wagner) Reimer of Olcott, NY and the late Harold J. Reimer.
He was employed as a production worker by GM Harrison Radiator in Lockport for 31 years, retiring nine years ago. Richard served in the U.S. Army and Reserves from 1968 to 1974. He was a member of the O. Leo Curtiss American Legion Post # 830 in Ransomville and an avid Minnesota Viking fan. Richard also enjoyed NASCAR racing and loved his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Beverly (Lymburner) Reimer, whom he married on June 19, 1969; his sons, Michael (Lisa) Reimer of Lewiston and Anthony (Amy) Reimer of Nixa, MO; his grandchildren, Emily, Katelyn, Allison, and Savannah; a brother, David (Margaret) Reimer of Youngstown; a sister, Judy (Jack) Trombley of Wyoming; and a sister-in-law, Karen Reimer of Colorado. He was predeceased by a brother, Harold Reimer.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Wednesday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:30 - 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 13th at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Lamb officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Diamond Blackfan Anemia Foundation, PO Box 1092, West Seneca, NY 14224 or to the Wilson Central Schools Sports Booster Program, 412 Lake St., Wilson, NY 14172.
