Mrs. Violet Boots, 55, of Con
yers, Ga., formerly of 301 Cottage
St., Lockport, died Sunday
after an apparent heart attack
in Lithonia, Ga. She and
her husband, Charles J. Boots,
left Lockport recently to make
their home in Georgia.
Born March 24, 1914, in Lockport,
Mrs. Boots was the daughter
of Louis and Bessie Downey
Volschow. She retired as a
clerk at Lockport Mills Corp.,
when it closed.
She was a charter member
and the first president of the
Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal
Order of Eagles, Aerie 825.
She was the organizer of the
auxiliary in 1944 and was also
active at First Presbyterian
Church in Lockport. where she
was a member.
In addition to her husband
she is survived by one son, Donald
Boots of Lithonia and several
nieces.
Friends may call from 7 to 9
p.m. today at Prudden and
Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee
St., Lockport, where funeral
services will be held at 2
p.m. tomorrow. The Rev. Ivan
A. Orloff, assistant pastor of
First Presbyterian Church, will
officiate.
The officers and members of
the Eagles Auxiliary of Lockport
will meet at 6:45 p.m. today
at the Eagles Hall or at 7
p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Cold Spring
Cemetery.
