L O C K P O R T - George A.
Chase, 93, of 266 Chestnut St.,
died Friday (Feb. 14, 1964) in
Lockport Memorial Hospital
after a short illness.
Born Aug. 4, 1870 in Hart-
land, the son of Albert and
Louisa Westcott Chase, he
lived in the Gasport area for
many years before moving
here in 1920. He had been
employed for 60 years as a
manager of cold storage and
fruit packing business and
had been employed at one
time for 23 years at the for-
mer G. L. Pugh Cold Storage
here. He retired 18 years ago.
His wife, Elizabeth Ann
Chase, died in 1957.
Surviving are three daugh-
ters, Mrs. Earl Chaplin and
Mrs. Archie Brownell, both of
Gasport, and Mrs. Milo New-
man, Leisure City, Fla.; a son,
Earle A. Chase, this city; a
sister, Mrs. John Baes, Gas-
port; a brother, Linus Chase,
this city; 12 grandchildren, 30
great-grandchildren and sev-
eral nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lange
Funeral Home. a service will
be conducted at 2 p.m. Mon-
day by Rev. William Pettibon,
associate pastor of emmanuel
Methodist Church. Burial will
be in Hartland Central Ceme-
tery.
