  Niagara Gazette - 5/30/1972 LOCKPORT - Ervin R. Criswell Sr., 78, of 8576 Ertman Road, Town of Lockport, died Monday (May 29, 1972) at Lockport Memorial Hospital after a long illness He was born in Newstead and operated his own farm at the Ertman Road address all his life. He retired 10 years ago. He is survived by his widow, Elida (Brewer) Criswell; eight daughters, Mrs. Doris Hicks of California; Mrs. William(- Marorie) Wruck, Mrs. Maynard (Lila) St. Onge, Mrs. Rachel Enzinna, all of Lockport; Mrs. Emma Van Buren of Costa Rica; Miss Violet Criswell, Mrs. Walter (Velva) Van Buren and Mrs. Dalbert (Jeannette) Cummings, all of Lockport; four sons, Robert J., Ervin R. Jr., Dennis J. and Marshall L. Criswell, all of Lockport; 47 grandchildren and 34 greatgrandchildren. He sis alos survived by a sister, Mrs. Eva Van Buren of Clarence Center; a brother, Charles Criswell of Akron, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gaul Funeral Home, 263 East Ave., where services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Donald C. Medoff of the Royalton Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery.
