Donald L. Rose

BUFFALO - Donald L. Rose passed away June 20, 2014 in Buffalo General Medical Center. Born in Lockport on May 29, 1929, he was the son of Donald L. and Winifred (Heidenfeld) Rose. Donald served in the US Army from 1946 to 1947, earning the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan. He was a mailman in Lockport and also a cab driver for Star Cab Co. in Lockport. Donald was a baseball coach, enjoyed dachshunds, and was both an avid NY Yankees and Cleveland Browns fan. He was predeceased by his first wife, Nancy (Hallatt) Rose in 1990.
Donald is survived by his wife of 22 years, Lila (Criswell) Rose of Lockport; father of Dennis (Darlene) Rose of Burt, Mike Rose of Olcott, Debbie Rose of Colorado, and Linda Pitler; grandfather of Amanda (Josh) Seward and Dustin Rose. He is also survived by Lila's family, Kathy (George) Apolito, Daryl (Mike) St. Onge, David (Judy) St. Onge, Gary (Cheri) St. Onge, Jeffery (Mary) St. Onge; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; predeceased by Joseph St. Onge.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, June 23rd, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 24th, at 10 AM in Christ Episcopal Church, Rochester Rd. & Fieldcrest Dr., Lockport. Entombment will be in Glenwood Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the church would be appreciated by the family.
