The Tonawanda News Tue Apr 08, 2014, 09:49 AM EDT NORTH TONAWANDA - Mary Jean (nee Redfield) Brody, age 86, of Tonawanda, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at DeGraff Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. Born in Weedsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Charlotte (nee Hood) Redfield and had been a resident of Tonawanda for more than 40 years. Jean was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, the Tonawanda Women's Democratic Club, the Red Hat Society, and was a past president of the American Legion, Tonawandas Post No. 264 Auxiliary. She was the sister of the late James and Norma Redfield, and Frances and Robert Bowman. She is survived by her husband, John A. Brody; and her son, Richard (Diane Wisniewski) Fix. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. There is no visitation. A Mass will be celebrated in her memory at 8:30 AM Wednesday, April 23, at St. Francis Chapel, 71 Adam Street, Tonawanda.
