Margaret M. Bowen, 83, of Medina, NY, entered into rest on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Medina Memorial Hospital.
Born on April 17, 1931 in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Loretta (Lanighan) Williamson.
In 1949, she married the late Robert A. Bowen, to whom she was married for 60 years, until his passing. Together they lived in Lockport, Middleport and lastly in Medina. She worked various jobs, including Shaw's Dairy of Middleport, Fisher-Price of Medina and lastly retired from Harrison Radiator of Lockport, after 20 years of service. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish/St. Mary's Church and enjoyed gardening and spending time at their cottage on Lake Ontario. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by four children, Rita Curry of Lockport, Diane McCall of Hamlin, Walter (Diane) Bowen of Altoona, Iowa, Robert Bowen of Medina; ten grandchildren, Tammy (Edward) Rounds, Christina Curry, Brett Esch, Colleen (Jason) Trusler, Jenifer Bowen, Robert (Jeanie) Bowen, Samantha Bowen, Shannon (Joe) Adams, Melissa (Chris) Marquart, Amanda Bowen; twelve great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Muriel Williamson of Lockport and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she is pre-deceased by a son-in-law, Larry McCall and a daughter-in-law, Debra Bowen.
There are no calling hours. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the spring on a later date to be announced. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Margaret's name to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
