George Milan Bowen of Westfield,
formerly of Randolph Township,
died at the Carr Hospital In
Silver Creek Saturday morning, after
a five-day illness. Mr. Bowen
was stricken Monday night and an
emergency operation was performed
early Tueday.
Milan Bowen, who was the third
son of the late William and Harriet
Hitchcock Bowen, was born
In this township, December 12,
1861. He spent much of his lifetime
here until about 20 years ago
when the family moved to West-
field where Mr. Bowen had since
been employed by the Welch Grape
Juice Company.
Surviving in addition to the wife,
Mrs. Lottie Bowen, and one son,
Floyd Bowen, at home, there are
two brothers, Otis F. Bowen, of
Randolph; Tyler E, Bowen of
Washington, D, C, and one sister,
Mrs. Olive Woodmancy of East
Randolph, Several nieces and
nephew also survive.
Funeral services were held from
the Carpenter Funeral Home In
Westfield Monday afternoon at 2
o'clock. Interment was in West-
field cemetery. Relatives attend-
ing from this vicinity were Mr, and
Mrs. Otis Bowen, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest
Bowen. Mrs. Mabel Woodmancy
and Mrs S. V. Woods.
