HERKIMER - The superintendent of
schools in Herkimer from 1959 to 1972
Arnold B Copping, died yesterday in
Utica.
Copping, 66, of 724 Garden Lane, was
stricken at the S & M Electric Center a
242 Genesee St and was dead on arrival
at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Dr. Charles
Brady, coroner, said death was due to
natural causes
Mr Copping was born in Kendall, son
of John H. and Lillian Bowen Copping
He married Ethelyn Bovee in 1940
He was veteran of World War II and
served as a naval lieutenant in Europe
and off the Coast of North Africa
He was active in Rotary since 1949
the Herkimer Masonic Lodge, the Re
formed Church and was vice presiden
of its Consistory He also served as ;
deacon and elder of the church
He leaves his wife and a son. Robert of
Oxford. Conn . two sisters. Mrs Ruth
Strait of Albany and Mrs Ernest
(Edith) Roach of San Clemente. Calif
Funeral arrangements by the Fenne
Funeral Home are incomplete.
