- Robert Eric Buchholz, age 78 of Wheatfield, NY, was called unexpectedly to his heavenly home on December 14, 2024 at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on November 22, 1946; son of the late Eric and Barbara (Hunt) Buchholz. Bob served in the United States Army from 1967-1969. He was employed as a boiler engineer with the Niagara Falls Board of Education, until his retirement. A member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, and the Niagara County Sportsman Club. Bob loved fishing, boating and target shooting.Besides is parents, he was predeceased by three sisters, Beverly Taylor, Elaine Tierney and Bonnie Szabad. Surviving is his wife of 38 years, Cheryl (Finitz) Buchholz; five children, Robert (Nicole) Buchholz Jr., Laura Buchholz, Kim (Robert) Smiley, Keven (Dannette) Proulx and Keith Proulx; six grandchildren, Madison, Bryce, Cystal, Robert, Joseph and Vickey; and seven great-grandchildren.Visitation will be at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Thursday (December 19) from 3-6 p.m. Services will immediately follow visitation at 6:00 p.m., with the Rev. Denton White, officiating. Interment will take place in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery, on Friday (December 20) at 10:00 a.m. with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Niagara County SPCA.
