Shirley M. Perry, age 83, of Ransomville, died on Friday, May 16, 2014 in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport. Shirley was born on January 12, 1931 in Ransomville, NY, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Frances (Beecher) Sanborn and was a 1949 graduate of Tonawanda High School. She married George R. Perry on November 12, 1949 and they moved to Orlando, FL in 1964.
Shirley worked doing domestic cleaning in Orlando for many years. She also worked at a Woolworth's Department store for 12 years and then at Olin Mills Portrait Studio for 6 years. George predeceased her on March 1, 1996 and she returned to Youngstown in 1998. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown and the Universal Craftsman Council of Engineers. She enjoyed painting, playing cards, and the Lewiston Senior Citizens.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Perry of Sulfur, LA, Douglas (Charlene) Perry of Detroit, MI, and Darin (Tonna) Perry of Youngstown; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by twin daughters, Betty Mae and Betty Ann Perry; a sister, June Drinkwalter; and a brother, Ted Sanborn.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 11:30 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in the North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local Hospice.
