  Niagara Gazette - 4/26/1962 NEWFANE-Mrs. Doris Ferris, 42, wife of Charles Ferris, Ridge Road, Wright's Corners, died unexpectedly Saturday night. (March 24, 1962) at Meyer Memorial Hospital, Buffalo, where she had been a patient for two days. Born Aug. 3, 1919, in the Town of Somerset, Mrs. Ferris was a daughter of William J. and Margaret Harrod Bowes. In addition to her husband, surviving are two sons, Lawrence and Robert Ferris, both at home; four daughters, Sharon, Gloria ahd Linda Ferris, all at home, and Mrs. Barbara Hubbart, Newfane; her parents at Newfane; five brothers, Leo Bowes, Lockport, Vincent Bowes, Wilson, Francis and Edward Bowes, California and Donald Bowes, in military service in Texas; and two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Davis, Watertown, and Mrs. Betty Piatt, Arizona.. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Sherrie Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m: Tuesday by Rev. Walter Greenawalt of First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Hartland Central Cemetery.
