  Rome NY Daily Sentinel - 7/5/1902 Che death of George G. Bowman, aged of Canterbury Hill occurred at 6 a.m. on the Fourth of July at Utica. Death was caused by apoplexy and followed within an hour and a half after he wa first stricken. Mr. Bowman was born in the vicinity of Canterbury Hilll and the greater portion of his life had been spent ere ,although portions of seveal years had been passed in Vermont. He was a son of Alexander and Esther M. Bowman and a farmer by occupation. He is sur- vived by his wife, one son, Guy W., and two daughters, Eva and Irene, all of Can- terbury Hill; also a sister, Mrs. Israel ?? of Rome and two brothers, John and Frank Bowman of Canterbury Hill. The remains were taken to his former home today.
