Mr. and Mrs. C. Arthur Johnston, State St., Gas-
port, who will be married 50 years on April 28, will be
honored by their children, Mrs. Roger Rice and Chester
Johnston of Gasport; Kimball Johnston, Lockport; and
their foster daughter, Mrs. S. J. Vint Of Canisteo at
an open house to be held Sunday at the Gasport Fire
Hall, State St., from 2 to 5 in the afternoon. Relatives
and friends are cordially invited.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnston, former-
ly of West Somerset, have lived
in Gasport for 2 years,, where
Mr. Johnston is still active in
the real estate business with the
Paul Reynolds Agency. They
were married by the Rev. L. D.
Adams,, former pastor of the
Hartland Methodist Church,, April
28,, 1909.
Mrs. Johnston, the former Sadie
Bowman, was born in Hartland
on Feb. 28, 1883. She is the daughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs.
James H. Bowman, Hartland.
Mr. Johnston's parents are the
late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Johnston,
Ransomville. He was born
in Ransomville on Oct. 19, 1881.
The Johnstons, who attend the
Gasport Congregational Church,
have nine grandchildren.
Mr. Johnston, prior to his
present occupation, operated a
produce bsiness for several years,
traveling in 43 states and Canada.
He is a member of the Gasport
Chamber of Commerce and
Lions Club; a 32nd Degree Mason;
a Shnner, and a member
of the Lockport IOOF. Mrs. Johnston
was formerly active in Eastern
Star and Rebekah work.

be the couple's original attendants,
