- Thomas Boyd, IV, age 55, of Lewiston, NY, passed from this life into the loving embrace of his Lord on Monday, June 29, 2015, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born on December 22, 1959 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Thomas Boyd, III of Lewiston, NY and the late Ilene (Aikins) Boyd.
Thomas was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. Having attended local schools and graduating from Niagara Falls High School, he served in the United States Army, stationed with U.S. forces in Europe, from 1979 until his honorable discharge in 1983. For almost 30 years, Thomas was employed by the Western Region of Off Track Betting (OTB). He was a member of Forestview Church of God and the American Legion LaSalle Post #1142. Thomas loved his dog, Snowflake and was an avid sports fan.
Thomas is now reunited with his mother, Ilene and his brothers, Glen, Jeffrey and Steven, who predeceased him. He is survived by his father, Thomas Boyd, III; nephew, Jeffrey; niece, Sara and several aunts, uncles and cousins. An outgoing and generous individual, Thomas will be sadly missed by his many friends and co-workers.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-6 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007) where a funeral service will be held on Friday, July 3rd at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Ronald Maines, of Forestview Church of God, officiating.
