OGDENSBURG - -.-.. Mrs.
Elizabeth (Liz) Mitchell Hand-
ley, 55, wife of Harlan H.
Handley, 906 Hamilton St.,
died 2 p.m. Thursday in the
A. Barton Hepburn Hospital,
where she had been a patient
one week. She had been ill
since March.
The funeral will be Monday
at 9:30 a.m. at the Nichols
Funeral Home and at 10 at
St. Mary's Cathedral. Burial
will be in Ogdensburg Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral
home beginning this
evening.
Surviving, besides her husband,
are two sons, Richard
H., Ogdensburg, and Capt.
George H. Handley, now on
leave, a helicopter pilot in
Vietnam; a daughter, Mrs.
Harry (Elizabeth)- Costigan,
Ogdensburg; a sister, Mrs.
Augustus (Helen) Ashley,
Spile Bridge Road and five
grandchildren.
Mrs. Handley was born
Sept. 18,1913, in Ogdensburg,
daughter of Alexander and
Ida Bray Mitchell. She was
graduated from Ogdensburg
Free Academy in 1932. She
was married to Harlan Howard
Handley Oct. 20, 1934, at
the Methodist parsonage here.
She worked with her husband
in Handtey's Bakery.
Then she was employed for
three years by the Randies
Manufacturing Co. She had
been an attendant at the St
Lawrence State Hospital 17
years, until her illness. She
was active in women's bowling.
She was a member of St.
Mary's Cathedral parish, the
St. Anne Society and the Rosary
Society.
