 Dr. John Walter Bracken,
 79, a native of Schaghticoke,, and
 long a dentist in New York City
 and Schaghticoke,, died yesterday
 at eonard Hospital, after a short
 illness.
 Dr. Bracken was graduated from
 the dental scoo of Baltimore
 Medical College in 1900, magna
 cum laude, and began his profes-
 sional career in New York City
 where he practiced for 46 years.
 Nine years ago he returned to
 Schaghticoke and resumed prac-
 tice.
 He was a member of Victor
 Lodge, F&AM of Schaghticoke,
 and Trinity Episcopal Church,
 Schaghticoke. Officers and mem
 bers of Victory Lodge will conduct
 their ritualistic service tomorrow
 at 8 p.m. at the home of Dr.
 Bracken's sister. Mrs. Archibald
 McClure in Valley Falls.
 Dr. Bracken Is survived by his
 wife, the former Elizabeth Bres
 nan of Schaghticoke. They had ob
 served their golden wedding anni
 versary in 1952. Other survivors in
 include two sons, John W Bracken
 Jr., of Fairfield, Conn, and Thomas
 Bracken of Greenwich, Conn,
 his sister. Mrs. McClure, and six
 grandchildren.
 Funeral services will be Saturday
 at 2 pm. from the home of
 Mrs. McClure with Rev. Melvln D.
 Lavender, pastor of t he Valley
 Falls Methodist Church, officiat-
 ing.  Interment will be in Elmwood
 Cemetery, Schaghticoke.
