- Lucy E. Bradfield Evans LaScala, a longtime resident of Niagara Falls, died on Saturday. March 28, 2015 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. She was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario on February 22, 1927, the daughter of the late John and Mona (Patience) Hudson.
Mrs. LaScala was employed by the Carborundum Company as the Manager of Flight Section for many years, retiring from there in 1984. Following her retirement, she worked for Uniland Development Company in the accounting department for 10 years.
She was a long time member of Riverside Presbyterian Church, member of the 7 Clan; Alcoholics Anonymous and Parents Without Partners, where she was named National Single Parent of the year in 1976. Lucy devoted much of her time to AA, giving support and courage to those that needed that extra special attention. When time permitted, she loved to read, especially murder mysteries.
She was predeceased by husbands, Raymond Bradfield, William Evans and Samuel LaScala and a granddaughter. She is survived by her children, William (Gail) Bradfield of Lewiston; Robert (Rose) Bradfield and Richard “Bud” ( Roberta) Bradfield both of Niagara Falls; Mary Beth (Robert) Evans Finke of Florida; William Evans of Cheektowaga; JoAnn (Randal) Evans Stover of Texas and Donald Evans of North Tonawanda; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4-8 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where the Rev. Laura Norris-Buisch will conduct funeral services Wednesday at 11 AM. The interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials, if desired may be made to AA Niagara County through the United Way or to Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence.
