Thomas J. St. Philip, 64, of
2452 Cleveland Ave., died today
(April 26, 1968) in Niagara Falls
Memorial Hospital after a long
illness.
A native of Salerno, Italy, Mr.
St Philip came to this country
and established residence in this
.city in 1916. He was a U.S. Navy
veteran of World War I and an
Army veteran of World War II
fvhen he served in Italy with
177th Signal Repair Company
Mr. St. Philip was a branch
manager for the Holland Furnace
Co. and was assigned to
various cities throughout the
c o u n t r y including Cheyenne,
Wyo. and St. Louis, Mo. prior
to" being assigned here in 1956
A past commander of the La-
Salle Griffon VFW Post 917, Mr.
St, Philip was active in veteran
affairs and was a f r e q u e nt
speaker on veterans' affairs at
City Council meetings.
Two years ago Mr. St. Philip
was chairman of a committee
which brought into this city
several Congressional Medal of
Honor winners for a communitywide
dinner ot the LaSalle Griffon
Post.
Mr. St, Philip was also active
in politics and once served as
president of the Niagara Falls
Democratic Club. He was also
a Democratic commiteeman.
He was a member of the Niagara
Falls Coin Club, the Kenmore
Numismatic Club and the
Christoforo Colombo Society.
His wife, Mildred Bradley St.
Philip, died June 16, 1966.
Funeral services will be held
Monday at 8:30 a.m. at the
Rhoney Funeral Home find at
9^5 a.m. at S a c r e d Heart
Church. Burial will be in River-
dale Cemetery.
Friends may call 2 to 5 p.m.,
and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and
Sunday
