An attractive wedding was solemnized
Thursday, June 2, when Miss
Florence Mlna Catherine Whitmore,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Whitmore and granddaughter of
Mrs. Fred Bower, became the bride
of David L. Brimmer Jr., son of Mr.
and Mrs. David Brimmer of Lockport.
The ceremony was performed at
7 o'clock Thursday evening at
United Brethren church at Rapids
by the Rev. R. J. Vrooman. The
church was decorated with Spring
flowers and ferns. Before the cere-
mony Mrs. Vrooman offered a love-
ly vocal selection, "My Heart At
Thy Sweet Voice."
The bride, given in marriage by
her father wore a white satin gown
with lace yoke, long tightly-fitted
sleeves, and train having alternate
gores of lace and satin. A white illusion
veil fell from the Juliet cap to
the end of the train. Her shower
bouquet was of white roses and
gypsophila tied with white satin
ribbon.
Miss Mary Elizabeth Bistoff of
Lockport was the maid of honor.
She was gowned in peacock blue
net over satin, made with a full
skirt, V-neckline and having a
bolero jacket of net with shirred
ribbon and short puffed sleeves
Rows of matching ribbons formed
the waistline to give a bodice effect.
She' carried a handkerchief of wine
chiffon and wore a flower of the
same color in her hair. A bouquet
of tea roses and varl-eolored snapdragons
completed her costume.
The two bridesmaids were Mlsss
Edna' Wilklns of Ransomville and
Miss Eva May Kelly of Appleton.
They were costumed in poudre blue
and pink mousseline de sole, both
dresses being.fashioned alike and in
a manner similar to that of the maid
ol honor. They wore In their hair
ribbons of matching color and carried
bouquets of pink roses and
snapdragons,
Fred J. Bower of Lockport, uncle
of the bride, was Mr. Brimmer's best
man. Bob Hammond of Dansville
and Buddie Selmendorf of Lockport
were ushers
Immediately after the ceremony
there was a reception for 36 at the
home of Mr and Mrs. Ralph Wiser,
Ransom street, Lockport. The
bride's table, with covers for eight
was attractively decorated in pink
and white and centered with a
three-tiered wedding cake topped
with a miniature bride and groom.
Gift bouquete of Spring flowers
gave the house a cheery and inviting
appearance.
The young couple left for an
eastern trip and upon their return
will make their home on Riddle road
at Rapids. For traveling, the bride
wore a two-piece suit of white
sharkskin with blue accessories.
Guests were present from Olcott,
DansviUe, Ransomville, Appleton,
Rapids and Hearst, Ontario.
Miss Whitmore was feted at_ several
pre-nuptial affairs, including a
blue and white kitchen shower given
by the Misses Edna Wilkins and
Mary Elisabeth Bistoff, a grocery
shower at which Mrs. Donald Mc-
Arthur of Olcott, sister of the bridegroom,
was hostess.
A linen shower, given by Mrs
Ralph Wiser, and daughter, Mrs.
Walter Bower of Lockport and Miss
Eva May Kelly of Appleton; and a
variety shower given by Mrs
Fred Bower, the bride's grandmother,
and Mrs Henry Pless, the bride's
aunt.
