Police Patrolman James J. Brady. 37
years old, 2 Crick court, died in Mount
St. Mary's hospital at 5 o'clock this
morning, following an illnes of six
weeks from kidney trouble. Patrolman
Brady was to have undergone a blood
transfusion operation today in an ef
fort to save his life. Mrs.. Brady was
to give a quantity of her blood to her
husband, hospital authorities said.
Mr. Brady was a lifelong resident of
Niagara Falls. He was educated at the
Sacred Heart school and joined the
police department in 1923. Previously
he was employed as a detective by the
New York Central railroad. Although
he had been ill for six weeks,, his death
was unexpected and came as a shock to
a large number of friends, and his as-
sociates in the police department.
Patrolman Brady is survived by his
wife, Ruth, and three children, Leon-
ard James, Frances and Elizabeth
Brady. His mother, Mrs. Anna O'Hara,,
this city, and three sisters,, Mrs Mary
Miller, Sackaugavian, Canada, Mrs.
Leo Kane and Mrs.. Earl Phelps of this
city, also survive.
Funeral arrangements have not yet
been completed.
