- Victor E. DeCarlo, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away December 27, 2017 surrounded by family at his home. Born January 19, 1930 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Francesco and Mary (Curcio) DeCarlo. Vic served as a Fire Captain and firefighter for the Niagara Falls Fire Department for 34 years from 1958 until his retirement in 1992. Victor proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He also worked as a journeyman carpenter from 1950 to 1992 and was a member of the Carpenter’s Local Union. On May 19, 1973, he married Barbara A. (Amoretti) DeCarlo. Vic enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all, he cherished time spent with his family. In addition to his wife of 44 years, Vic is survived by his children, Vicki (Dominic) DelGrosso II, Tony J. DeCarlo, Yvonne (Daniel) Vivian, Dana (Brad) Reiplinger, Valentina DeCarlo, and Rose Marie (Tim) Russell; seven grandchildren, Dominic (Rachel) DelGrosso III, Valerie (Mark) Molnar, Ariel-DeCarlo (Adam) Meyers, Aaron Vivian, Danielle Vivian, Alec Reiplinger and Ryan Reiplinger; one great-grandchild, Dominic DelGrosso IV. One sister Corrine (Anthony) Musolino, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Vic was predeceased by two brothers, Franklin (Marge) DeCarlo, and Peter (Nancy) DeCarlo. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3 – 6:30 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304 with prayer services at 6:30 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 3rd at 10:30 A.M at the funeral chapel. Interment will follow at Riverdale Cemetery with Military Honors.
