Judith A. "Judy" Phillips, age 72, died on September 22, 2014, peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Unity Hospital. She was born on August 20, 1942 in Lockport, NY to the late Floyd and Katherine (Berg) Zimmerman and had lived in this area her entire life.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Holley and St. Joseph's Church in Lyndonville where she served as Eucharistic Minister and taught Sunday school. Judy also served as a Girl Scout leader in Lyndonville, worked at the Lyndonville post office, ran a cleaning business and ended her career at Clover Hill Adult Residence after 13 years where the last three years she served as the Activities Director.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Norman Zimmerman. Judy is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ron; sons, Thomas (Kimberly) Phillips and Timothy (Maureen) Phillips, both of Rochester; daughters, Christine Clements of Brockport and Carol (Brett) Chamberlain of Lockport; grandchildren, Chelsea, Ezekiel, Amelia, Shawn, Ketchel, Kendall, Braden and Carter; brother, Robert (Joan) Zimmerman of Lockport; sister-in-law, Edith Zimmerman of Lockport; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Judy's family will receive friends on Thursday at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 16650 Route 31 (West Albion Rd.) Holley, NY, from 5-8 PM with her Mass of Christian Burial held Friday at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Holley at 10 AM. Interment will occur at a later date.
