Funeral services were held in
Tarpon Springs, Fla., Sept. 13
for Don W. Bissell of Tarpon
Springs, a former Hamburg resident
and scout official here who
died Sept. 11 in his 78th year. Interment
was in Tarpon Springs.
Mr. Bissel moved to Florida 11
years ago following his retirement
as a research chemist with
the National Aniline Co. for 40
years. In boy scout work since
1932 he was formerly scoutmaster
of old Troop 2 of Hamburg Presbyterian
Church. He held the _
Silver Beaver Award and was currently
committee chairman of
Troop 48, Pinellas Area Council.
He was active in the Methodist
Church here and was a member
of First Methodist Church of Tarpon
Springs. Mr. Bissell was a
fifty year member of the American
Chemical Society and a member
of Alpha Chi Sigma and Sigma
Xi, honorary chemical societies.
Mr. Bissell leaves his wife, M.
Viola Bissell of Tarpon Springs;
two sons, Don W. Bissell of Rockton,
Ill.; and William F. Bissell of
Orchard Park, and five grandchildren.
He also leaves two brothers,
M. Lawrence Bissell of
Seattle, Wash.; and Ralph H. Bissell
of Keene, N. H.
